Fernando heads the firm’s regional coverage effort for the Latin American Financing Group, where he is responsible for origination and structuring of financing opportunities for governments and corporations. He also leads Goldman Sachs’ infrastructure efforts in Latin America.
He joined Goldman Sachs in 2003. He was named managing director in 2012.
Prior to joining the firm, Fernando worked at Bear Stearns and UBS Securities in the Latin American debt capital markets and derivatives departments for more than five years.
Fernando earned a BS in Physics-Engineering and a BA in Economics from Washington and Lee University in 1996 and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 2003.
