The U.S.-Paraguay Chamber of Commerce, Inc. (USPCC) hosted a welcoming luncheon for H.E. Mario Abdo Benítez, President of Paraguay, on September 26, 2018, at the corporate offices of J.P. Morgan. Accompanying the President were the Minister of Foreign Relations, H.E. Luis Alberto Castiglioni; Minister of Finance, H.E. Benigno Lopez; Director General of Protocol, Federico Gonzales; and Presidential Advisor Luis Pettengill.

During the reception the President greeted many of the attendees personally and met others for the first time. His talk during the luncheon began with his determination that Paraguay will be well-known to the international community and people in the U.S. He gave a clear and compelling presentation of the advantages that Paraguay offers to potential investors and his vision for a favorable future for the nation. He also expressed Paraguay’s solidarity with the Venezuelan people, as his government was the first to sign a joint declaration of Latin American countries calling for Maduro to be brought to the International Criminal Court.

The Chamber is grateful to President Abdo for meeting with the members and invited guests of the Chamber and to J.P. Morgan for its generous hosting of the program.
